Abstract
Non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs) are widely accepted for the treatment of venous thromboembolic disease as an alternative to vitamin K antagonists. However, still clear answer was not given regarding the safe use of NOAC in specific clinical situations. We purposed to review the optimal use of NOAC in fragile patients, including patients with chronic kidney disease, advanced age or bleeding.
